上周末在Dorene的blog来回寻找她曾做过的面茶,面茶找不到,却被一个漂亮,质感与众不同的蜜糖蛋糕吸引住。以前曾听auntie Irene 提起这个honey cake, 是她喜爱吃的蛋糕之一,所以常做来吃。她形容这蛋糕会呈现钟乳石的质感,有QQ的口感,充满香蜜味。我没认识auntie Irene 之前虽未尝过蜜糖蛋糕,不过有吃过bika ambon, 所以联想到它的口感应该是类似那样的口感吧!
星期二下午auntie Irene 出其不意的MMS了一个蛋糕的照片给我, 第一张没有打上任何文字, 不过我确实有猜想到会不会是蜜糖蛋糕呢?紧接着又再收到多一个MMS, 这次看到honey cake的字眼, 让我喜出望外, 马上回电给auntie Irene,才知道她刚烤了一个非常漂亮满意的蜜糖蛋糕,要我放工后去她家拿这蛋糕回家与家人分享。

the honey cake texture is very springy and indeed very nice. The texture is very much like bika ambon, if only we can bake bika ambon like this honey cake texture, it will be perfect and we will be very happy. Both auntie Irene & me are pondering why this cake can achieve this texture when the ingredients and method are so different with bika ambon...

蜜糖蛋糕看来很好吃,烘出来有很多一丝一丝的,很漂亮。我曾看过一本蛋糕食谱,Honey Cake 是不是也叫做 HoneyComb Cake?

Aiyoo.....This is my favourite too. I tried to make it last 2 week and the outcome not so justified but still taste v nice. Next time will ask shifu how to make it so perfect !

那时aunt irene也给我尝试过这蜜糖蛋糕。就是当时她也叫Dorene烘这honey cake.刚好那天我有去她家。这honey cake 质的的确有点像bika ampon。这次做的蜜糖蛋糕烘出来真得好很多一丝一丝的,蛮漂亮的哟!

蜜糖蛋糕很好吃,味道口感都很棒! 甜味刚刚好,我拿一些与同事分享,他们都这样认为,尤其喜欢它QQ凉凉的口感。我想Honey Cake 应该也叫做 HoneyComb Cake,因为它除了有用蜜糖,也呈现蜜蜂窝的组织。

oh, didn't know this is your favourite too and you have been trying to bake it lately. It's really very tasty & nice. Ya, our shifu Irene made very satisfactory honey cake, you should consult her how to make it so perfect and find out what has gone wrong with your recipe or method.

是啊,我个人觉得这honey cake 的质感很像bika ampon。这次做的蜜糖蛋糕烘出来真的有很多一丝一丝的,很完美!可是要烘像这样理想一丝一丝直线到上面的bika ambon 确实很不容易哦!那你应该也从dorene 那里学会做这蛋糕了吧?有曾试过做来吃吗?

哈哈哈,原来Honey cake有那么多人青睐。。。相信要把它做得像auntie Irene做的一样应该不是那么容易,有稍微做得不正确就不能取到那么完美的质感。

这次Irene做的蜜糖蛋糕好像比起以前做的更加成功,难怪她迫不及待的mms给你咯!可惜我家的烘炉没有上下火无法做这蛋糕。。。
