Puff Pastry & 荀粿对对碰

昨天在auntie Irene 家,Nicole, Mabel 和我一起学做puff pastry 的皮,一人做一份,还炒了chicken pie 的fillings 和沙汀鱼来包馅。


看到了吗!这个close-up 的水果盅就看到许多皮层,auntie Irene 做的puff pastry 真的非常棒,很香,很酥脆...
我们见识了Palmiers 的制作。这情人酥的形成很神奇,从平凡无奇的卷形状在烘烤的过程转变成心型的样子。

Auntie Irene 还教我们用"老鼠粉" Mee-tai-mak 做成透明的粿皮,真的非常简易和理想。谢谢auntie Irene 让我们大开眼界!

除了用沙葛红萝卜包馅,我们还搞创意,做了沙汀鱼荀粿呢!
嘻嘻...还是auntie Irene 炒的传统沙葛馅好吃!

沾了甜酱和辣椒酱的荀粿,味道更加不得了!

Hi Margaret,

You guys are making so many pasty again...the pastry skin looks so light & crispy, must be very yummy. Every week you learn new things, must be very satisfying ya! Too bad, I can't spare the time.

尝试吃之后,这三样糕点令我念念不忘。我还和我先生说我一定要和 autn Irene 学做"老鼠粉" Mee-tai-mak 做成透明的荀粿皮和 chicken pie,口感不错哟!

saturday really enjoy do puff pastry with you and Mabel, and also both of us do the mee-tai-mak soon kueh, of course cannot foeget our Mama - auntie Irene la! hee hee ...

all the foods really yummy and delicious...yum yum ...

Wow you make the lovers roll - is so crispy and sweet, just like real lovers , soooo sweet.

I enjoyed doing the pastry with you and nicole but I miss the soon kueh. How come how long we stay at auntie irene place also like not enough time one huh???

Next time must camp overnight liao hehehehheh.....

yes indeed, the pastry is very crispy, fragrant and yummy, we got very excited when we saw the pastry grow higher with so many layers...

ha..ha..sure u will have a chance to learn it...how about this weekend? ...ha~ha~

这两天又没有机会上网。。。 现在用的是花了不少钱修理回来的手提电脑,放弃它觉得可惜,况且用同等数目也买不到一个新的,还是环保一点,给这个电脑一个生存的机会,嘻嘻。。。

yeah..I also enjoyed making the pastry with you and Mabel...roll out, fold roll out...rest for 20 min...roll somemore...rest for 20 min...hee hee... the process is long but worth the while when we get to taste the pastry...

是嚄,我们做荀粿皮时更好玩,auntie Irene 杆了一轮皮就说够包完那一点沙葛馅,不必再杆了,怎知我们很勤快,不停的杆,杆出没完没了的皮,还搞创意,包了另类馅料的笋粿皮,auntie Irene也拿我们没辙,嘻嘻~ the soong kuih was really very delicious...

Yeah...it's a pity we didn't have time to make the soong kuih together before you've to leave...we can vouch that the soong kuih skin using the mee-tai-mak was really easy to make as compared with mixing our own dough...the success rate is 100%! how amazing! the skin texture also very nice to eat...

haha...camp overnight!?...sure or not?! your hubby and 2 sons will miss you dearly...hee hee...

嘻嘻~Joanne啊Joanne..肯定 100% 成功率啦!看啦,一不小心又被挨‘讲’了啦!哈哈~

真的不可思议,这是我第一次听到可以用老鼠粉做成荀馃。我想在五月的时候跟Auntie Irene 预约学做荀馃和Puff Pastry。
